Do you use LinkedIn Articles? If so, you might have seen the new possibilities and the new look of these articles. In this article, we will walk you through the changes that LinkedIn has recently made.

NB: The changes on LinkedIn Articles will initially be rolled out in the US and thereafter globally. The changes are the following:

  • A sleek, modern interface
  • Rich, engaging multimedia
  • Better possibilities for searching.

A sleek, modern interface

LinkedIn has managed to create a more sleek and modern interface on their Articles to improve the reader experience. In addition, the Articles are now full-width – meaning that the width of the article will fill the entire screen (see example below). Et Billede In addition to giving the articles a sleeker look, this will also place a higher focus on the content of the article, because the reader will not get disturbed by other screen elements while reading.

Rich, Engaging Multimedia

Another change is that LinkedIn has made it easier to use multimedia in the LinkedIn Articles. The focus has been to make it easy to add, move and resize the chosen media. This can be done by clicking on the icon for adding media. View how to do this below:Et Billede The use of media is a good way to enrich your readers with engaging content. Better Possibilities for Searching

LinkedIn has also updated their tagging and distribution system. This update should make it easier to navigate articles on LinkedIn. Now, it is possible to tag your articles before you publish them. This feature will make it easier for LinkedIn users to explore and search through articles to find the right content.

Initially, this feature will only be available on mobile devices, but soon it will be possible from the desktop as well.

Why should you be interested in LinkedIn Articles?

There is more than one reason why LinkedIn Articles are important. If you are writing the articles yourself, you can position yourself as a thought leader within your field. You can also use LinkedIn Articles to enrich your network, to create interest around your personal profile, to get new leads and to indirectly create a positive atmosphere about the company that you are presenting through your work.

If you do not want to write articles yourself, LinkedIn is a good place to read articles from others to stay updated on relevant things in your industry, to stay updated on new trends or to gain more insight into the challenges your customers are currently facing. With this knowledge, you will become wiser about where to place your focus in the future.
